Mosque site landlord threatened

In a worrying development of the mosque story we covered recently, the Witney Gazette is now reporting that the landlord of the proposed mosque site has been threatened.

As a result of the threat, which appears to have involved threatening to burn the site down, Georg Wissenter, known to most of Chippy as the owner of Georgian House Antiques, has decided to no longer allow the town’s small Muslim community to use his empty retail unit on Hitchmans Mews as a prayer room.

You can read the Gazette’s story here. This is obviously a developing story and we will be covering it in depth in our next print edition.
