Rob moved to Chipping Norton in 1973 to teach History at Top School.
Despite retaining strong Welsh roots, he came to love The Town became involved in many aspects of Chippy life – including the ACE Centre, FROTH (Friends Of The Town Hall) and two Town Appraisals.
He also enjoyed a lively cultural life supporting The Theatre and singing in the Choral Society.
A life-long socialist, he was Chair of the Chipping Norton Branch of the Labour Party – but he never let partisan politics overcome his deep concern and enthusiasm for working to promote The Town and enhance the lives of its residents.
