Cornish Road plan approved – despite town objections

West Oxfordshire District Council has approved plans for new houses and flats on Cornish Road – despite the town council objecting to the development.

Permission has been granted with nine conditions – which include no new houses being occupied before the vehicle accesses, drives, car and cycle parking spaces, turning areas and parking courts serving the new houses are complete.

The decision follows the town council objecting to the plan due to concerns about overdevelopment, a relative lack of parking and garages, and the loss of green space. At an exhibition last autumn to publicise the plans, there was also public concern about these issues.

However, WODC granted permission for the development – which comprises five houses and four flats – at the end of last week. The application was made by Cottsway Housing.
