Chippy ALDI is approved

As predicted, plans for an ALDI store in Chippy have been approved.

The plans went up before West Oxfordshire District Council’s Uplands planning sub-committee this afternoon, and ALDI was given the go-ahead.

WODC’s planning officer had previously recommended that the proposal should be given the go-ahead.

The store, which will be built on the former Highways Depot site on Banbury Road – next to Cromwell Park – has had a lot of support from Chippy residents, as evidenced from our Facebook page. Comments there today include:

“We need this in Chippy!”

“I won’t have to travel to Banbury then”

“Would make Chipping Norton worth going to”

“It will encourage people to stay in Chippy and should therefore benefit the other shops.”
