There will be a public consultation at the Town Hall this afternoon on the proposed Chadlington Downs  development.

The development, which has already seen one public consultation, would see housing built on farmland and land owned by the football club.

It is located between Walterbush Road, Cotswold Crescent and Burford Road, with the housing continuing up to Burford Road, opposite Chadlington Downs Farm.

Last autumn, the developers said that there would be access to the site from Walterbush Road, but following concerns from the public at the initial consultation, they have now revised this – creating a main access onto Burford Road.

The original plan was to build 120 houses, with the provision of a new clubhouse for the football club and a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA). The plans have gradually extended, and now 228 houses are proposed.

Developers have been promoting the Chadlington Downs site as suitable for housing for at least four years.

The consultation will take place between 2pm and 7pm today, in the lower room at the town hall. Chippy News will also have a report on it soon.
