Historian’s library for sale at Oxfam

Tony Cooper, the manager of Chippy’s Oxfam Books & Music shop, has been in touch to publicise a collection of books that the store will be selling from this weekend. Tony explains,

“We have recently been given a wonderful donation of local history books from a generous donor who was keen to support Oxfam’s work.

“It was the personal library of a well known and respected historian who collected local books and pamphlets covering the history of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire and includes the Cotswolds.

“The condition of nearly all of the collection is very good and prices range from £1.99 to £100.00. Many are now out of print and much sought after.

“Altogether there are around 600 books, pamphlets and society journals. It is the very best collection of this type we has been donated since we opened the shop in Chipping Norton in 2010 and we are very excited about it going out on sale.”

The whole collection will go on sale in Oxfam Books & Music in Chipping Norton on Saturday 27 September from 9.30am.
