Chipping Norton School’s staff, students and supporters were delighted to learn in November that the latest Ofsted Inspection has rated the School ‘Good’ overall with ‘Outstanding’ ratings for both personal development and the high-performing sixth form. This is excellent news after the School has spent over 18 months working on improvements to its performance
In a letter to parents announcing the ‘exciting news’, Headteacher Simon Duffy pointed to the inspectors comments that ‘teachers are firmly focussed on helping pupils achieve their best’ and ‘the School’s work to promote students’ personal development and welfare is outstanding’. He also singled out comments on the sixth form, judged as outstanding where ‘students benefit greatly from very high quality teaching, learning and assessment. Outcomes are impressive. Students in the sixth form achieve highly.’
Simon said in his message to parents ‘we are really pleased that the hard work of students and staff has been acknowledged in this way and we are now determined to make our school outstanding. It is very clear that the message about “working harder on harder work” is getting through as students strive to be the best that they can be. I am hugely grateful for the relentless support of students and parents who have always recognised the great qualities of Chipping Norton School, qualities that the Ofsted team saw in abundance. You can have a look at the full report here. Can I take this chance to thank you once again for all of the support you give to make Chipping Norton School such a great school.’
